U. S. Steel Successfully Completes Consent Relating to 10.75% Senior Notes Due August 1, 2008

United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X) announced today that the consent solicitation relating to amendment of its 10.75% Senior Notes due August 1, 2008, expired yesterday. Holders of over 90 percent of the Senior Notes consented to the proposed amendments and therefore the amendments were approved.
