U. S. Steel Completes Acquisition of Sartid

United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X) confirmed today that its wholly owned subsidiary U. S. Steel Balkan, d.o.o. has completed its purchase out of bankruptcy of Serbian steelmaker Sartid a.d. (Sartid) and related subsidiaries for a purchase price of approximately $23 million.

Sartid is an integrated steelmaker with annual raw steel design production capability of 2.4 million net tons, of which approximately one-third is currently operational.
