U. S. Steel Invites Area Companies to Participate in Million Dollar Football Toss to Benefit the United Way

U. S. Steel announced today that it is inviting Pittsburgh-area companies to participate in the Million Dollar Football Toss contest to benefit the United Way of Allegheny County. The Football Toss will be held on September 13 as part of U. S. Steel's United Way Party on the Plaza and the Pittsburgh Steelers Pep Rally.

The first 20 companies to commit will be eligible to enter one contestant in the "Toss-Off." For information on how to enter a representative from your company, and for the rules and regulations of the contest, contact George Manos at U. S. Steel, 412-433-6645.

One finalist from the "Toss-Off" will have a chance at making the "Final Toss" to win $500,000 for himself/herself and $500,000 for the United Way.

The events to take place on the plaza of the U. S. Steel Tower on September 13 include U. S. Steel's United Way Party on the Plaza from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and a Pittsburgh Steelers Pep Rally from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The "Toss-Off" will begin toward the end of the Pep Rally, and the "Final Toss" will be thrown at approximately 1:00 p.m.
