U. S. Steel Names Hollingsworth to Tax PositionPRNewswire-FirstCall United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X) announced today that James D. Hollingsworth has been appointed chief tax counsel and general manager-taxes. He reports to Gretchen R. Haggerty, senior vice president & controller. Hollingsworth, 46, holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and an associate degree in business administration from Augusta State University, a J. D. degree from the University of Georgia, a Master of Law in Taxation from DePaul University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. He also attended the United States Military Academy at West Point for approximately three years prior to receiving an honorable medical discharge in 1976. He began his United States Steel Corporation career in Chicago in 1980 as a tax attorney, transferred to Pittsburgh in 1984, and subsequently held a number of professional and managerial positions in the state tax, federal tax and international tax areas in Chicago, Pittsburgh and Findlay, Ohio. He is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Minnesota and Georgia. He is the former president of the Pittsburgh Chapter of Tax Executives Institute, and has held a number of tax related executive positions in the American Iron and Steel Institute, the National Association of Manufacturers and the Committee on State Taxation.
