Willie M. Stanfield Appointed General Manager of Corporate Development And Diversity for MarathonPRNewswire Effective January 2, 2002, Willie M. Stanfield will join Marathon Oil Company as General Manager of Corporate Development and Diversity. Stanfield will be responsible for the development of a strategic global diversity program for Marathon. He will work closely with the Company's Public Affairs and Governmental Affairs teams in the strategic positioning of Marathon with key stakeholders and constituency groups. Commenting on the appointment, Marathon President Clarence Cazalot said, "At Marathon, we value what people represent as employees, partners, customers, and neighbors. Prior to joining Marathon, Stanfield was vice president of Safety in Texaco Inc.'s Safety, Health and Environment Division. He held a number of senior positions during his career with Texaco, including Assistant to the Chairman where he was responsible for coordinating the corporate-wide execution of the company's diversity efforts and liaising with key national civil rights organizations and business leaders. Stanfield graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with a bachelor of Science degree in Transportation and Distribution Management.
