John Drosdick Elected to Board of Directors of U. S. SteelPRNewswire-FirstCall United States Steel Corporation Chairman Thomas J. Usher announced today that John G. "Jack" Drosdick has been elected to the company's board of directors effective February 25, 2003. Drosdick, 59, is chairman, chief executive officer and president of Sunoco, Inc. He joined Sunoco in 1996 as president and chief operating officer and was elected to his current position in May 2000. He is also chairman of the board of directors of Sunoco Logistics Partners L.P. He began his career with Exxon Corp. in 1968 where for 15 years he held a wide variety of management positions in New Jersey, Texas and Louisiana. Later, Drosdick was named president of Tosco Corp. in 1987 and president of Ultramar Corp. in 1992. A native of West Hazelton, Pennsylvania, Drosdick graduated from Villanova University in 1965 with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. In 1968, he received a master's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Massachusetts. He is a member of the board of directors of Lincoln National Corporation and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and is the museum's corporate executive board chairman. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and is chairman of the Board of Trustees of Villanova University.
