U. S. Steel Announces Changes in Management StructurePRNewswire Thomas J. Usher, chairman, CEO and president of United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X), today announced several significant changes in the executive management of the company. The reorganization, effective Dec. 1, is designed to support the company's focus on being a leader in the production of high quality and value-added steel products, its pursuit of domestic and global consolidation of the steel industry and to reflect the changes that will result from the sale of its raw materials and transportation businesses. Christopher J. Navetta has been named to the newly created position of executive vice president-U. S. Steel Kosice, s.r.o. (USSK). Navetta will report to John H. Goodish, president of USSK, who will continue to report to Roy G. Dorrance, U. S. Steel's vice chairman and chief operating officer. In his new position, Navetta will be responsible for all operations and administrative functions at USSK in Kosice, Slovakia. Navetta most recently served as president of UEC Technologies LLC. Donald L. Foster has been appointed vice president-international for U. S. Steel and president-UEC Technologies Inc., replacing Navetta. In his new position, Foster will be responsible for international business development and trade issues, and the management of UEC, U. S. Steel's technology consulting business. Foster will report to Dorrance. J. James Kutka, in addition to his current position as vice president- commercial, sheet products for U. S. Steel, has been named president-United States Steel International, Inc., a position formerly held by Foster. Kutka will report to J. Paul Kadlic, who has been named executive vice president- sheet and tin products. Kadlic will assume responsibility for tin products, in addition to his current responsibility for production, sales and marketing of sheet products, and John C. Price, general manager-tin products, will report to him. Also reporting to Kadlic will be Keith H. Jansen, who has been named general manager-logistics services for U. S. Steel at the company's headquarters in Pittsburgh. Jansen was most recently president-Transtar Logistics, LLC, located in Monroeville, Pa. Kadlic will continue to report to Dorrance. Also reporting to Dorrance will be Thomas J. Cera, general manager-plate products, Gary F. Gajdzik, general manager-tubular products, and Leonard H. Chuderewicz, vice president-raw materials. Cera, Gajdzik and Chuderewicz had formerly reported to Charles C. Gedeon, who has since been named to lead a transition team for the new raw materials and transportation company formed from U. S. Steel assets that would be purchased by affiliates of Apollo Management, L.P. In addition, effective Jan. 1, Stephen K. Streubing will become president- USS Real Estate, replacing Peter Moller, who will become managing director- special projects. Streubing is currently treasurer of USS Real Estate.
