United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X) today announced the appointment of F. David Coleman to general manager-corporate diversity, effective March 1.

In this new position, Coleman, 54, will be responsible for advancing company-wide diversity and inclusion strategies. He will work closely with executive management and human resources staff to provide insight, resources, tools and actions to advance corporate diversity goals in important competitive areas for a new generation of employees. Coleman will report administratively to Tom Sterling, senior vice president-Human Resources & Business Services, and functionally to both Sterling and the Executive Management Committee.

"We believe his valuable insight and comprehensive human resource management experience will help us to achieve our diversity goals across the company."

Coleman joined U. S. Steel in 2004 as manager-insurance benefits for the United States Steel and Carnegie Pension Fund, the company's pension administration group. Prior to his employment at U. S. Steel, Coleman served as vice president of human resources at Ranpak Corp., a manufacturer of systems and materials for inside-the-box packaging applications, from 1995 to 2004.
