U.S. Steel and Penguins Team Up to Score a Goal for Central Blood BankPRNewswire U.S. Steel (NYSE: X) and the Pittsburgh Penguins have teamed up again this year to score a winning goal for Central Blood Bank. Anyone who registers to donate blood at the U.S. Steel Tower during the August 28, 29 and 30 drive will be given two tickets to a Penguins pre-season game. They will also have the chance to enter a raffle for a grand prize of an autographed Penguins jersey. To be eligible for the free pre-season tickets and to enter the raffle, registered donors do not have to work for U.S. Steel or be tenants of the U.S. Steel Tower. Walk-ins are welcome and encouraged. The U.S. Steel Tower blood drive is part of a greater effort throughout the company's operations in Pittsburgh. Employee-only blood drives are also being held at the U.S. Steel Service Center on the south side, Clairton Works, and the Irvin and Edgar Thomson plants of the Mon Valley Works. Employees at these locations will also receive Penguins pre-season game tickets and the chance to win an autographed jersey. It is anticipated that 1,400 people will present to donate blood during U.S. Steel's end of summer campaign.
