Transtar Logistics Implements ADS Logistics Management Software Solution

Transtar Logistics, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Transtar, Inc., has chosen Alternative Distribution Systems, Inc.'s (ADS) logistics management software solution to provide web- enabled logistics management for Straightline Source, a new technology-enabled steel distribution business launched by United States Steel Corporation. Transtar, Inc. is a direct subsidiary of U. S. Steel.

Recently selected by Straightline to manage its transportation logistics, Transtar Logistics sought a comprehensive web-enabled software product to support this effort. The product they chose, LoMaS(SM), a logistics management system by ADS, has the ability to fully participate in the e-commerce network, a prerequisite for partnering with Straightline.

ADS developed LoMaS(SM) to support its trucking, warehousing and intermodal business units. LoMaS(SM) was successfully integrated into Transtar Logistics' operations and provides module functionality that includes load aggregation, rating, carrier load tendering, load acceptance, scheduling, shipment visibility and online notification of delivery.

Transtar Logistics manages Straightline's transportation logistics process using selectable LoMaS(SM) modules to provide transactional efficiency and control.
