Frank Lucchino Elected to Board of Directors of U. S. SteelPRNewswire-FirstCall United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X) Chairman Thomas J. Usher announced today that Frank J. Lucchino has been elected to the company's board of directors effective January 1, 2003. Lucchino, 63, previously served on the board of directors of National Steel Corporation and the board of directors of Allegheny Teledyne Incorporated. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where, in 1961, he earned a bachelor's degree in engineering and, in 1964, he earned a law degree. He is also an alumnus of Harvard Business School's Executive Education Program on corporate governance. Lucchino currently serves as a judge in the Orphans' Court Division of the Court of Common Pleas in Allegheny County, Pa. Prior to being elected to the Court, he was a senior partner at the Pittsburgh law firm of Grogan, Graffam, McGinley and Lucchino. He has also served five, four-year terms as Allegheny County (Pa.) Controller, an elected position. In 1993, Lucchino was named to the United States National Commission on Libraries and Information Science (NCLIS) by President Clinton and was confirmed by the Senate.
