U. S. Steel's Distribution & Logistics Unit to Become Transtar Logistics, LLCPRNewswire U. S. Steel Group (NYSE: X), a unit of USX Corporation, announced today that its Distribution & Logistics Services Department has been reorganized as Transtar Logistics, LLC, a newly created wholly owned subsidiary of U. S. Steel's direct subsidiary, Transtar, Inc. Thomas W. Sterling, president of Transtar, announced that Keith H. Jansen, general manager of the former U. S. Steel department, has been appointed president of the new Transtar subsidiary; that Arlene F. Fatalino has been appointed vice president, administrative services and that Robert H. Webster has been appointed vice president, operating services. "The function and expertise of Distribution and Logistics Services are a natural fit with the transportation businesses of Transtar," Sterling said. Transtar Logistics will continue to provide all logistics services necessary to support the shipment of steel products by U. S. Steel. Additionally, Transtar Logistics will market its domestic and international logistics expertise to a broad range of related industries. The reorganization is not expected to affect, or impact in any way, U. S. Steel's service to its customers or its relationships with carriers. Transtar Logistics will be located at Transtar's headquarters in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. Telephone numbers will remain unchanged until the move to Monroeville is completed in early June.
