U. S. Steel's Geoff Turk To Seek New Opportunities12.02.2015 PITTSBURGH, Dec. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X) President and Chief Executive Officer Mario Longhi announced today that Vice President - Service Center Solutions Geoff Turk will pursue other opportunities following the transition of the commercial entities, previously announced on Dec. 1. Turk joined U. S. Steel at a critical juncture in the company's transformation, giving shape to what has become The Carnegie Way including developing important process improvements throughout the enterprise. "Geoff came to U. S. Steel to help us continue to lay the foundation for the transformation of our company," said Mario Longhi. "His broad knowledge, passion and contributions as a leader and a teacher have made a tremendous difference across our enterprise. At this point in the journey, it is appropriate to let him apply his skill and ability to do the same for others." Turk will lead the integration of the Industrial and Service Center Solutions teams, building on the transformational momentum and helping to leverage the numerous synergies in the combined teams addressing these critical customer areas. Once this has been completed in the first quarter of 2016, Turk will pursue other opportunities outside the company.
